McGivney Council No. 29 is located at 42 Shelter Rock Road, off State Route 53, in southern Danbury.

McGivney Council No. 29 was founded in 1892 by the Catholic gentlemen of Danbury. It is named after Father Michael McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, which is headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut.
The Knights of McGivney Council work closely with the Danbury community as active volunteers for the Salvation Army, Special Olympics, and the Roman Catholic parishes in our community.

FROM I-84
Take Exit 5 and turn right onto Main Street. Follow Main Street to the the traffic light at Rogers Park (directly in front), and turn left onto South Street. Follow South Street (Route 53) to the traffic light at Shelter Rock Road. The Council hall is a few blocks ahead on the left-hand side.

FROM THE MERRITT PARKWAY
Take Exit 42 and head north on Route 58. About a mile past the center of Weston, Route 58 veers off to the left, and the road ahead becomes Route 53—go straight, taking Route 53. Follow Route 53 into Danbury, and turn right onto Shelter Rock Road. The Council hall is a few blocks ahead on the left-hand side.

FROM I-95
Take Exit 15 (Route 7 connector) and follow it to the end. Turn right, then right again at the bottom of the hill, onto old Route 7 (Main Avenue, Norwalk). About a mile ahead are entrances onto the Merritt Parkway. Take the second entrance (north toward New Haven), and follow to Exit 42. Follow the directions above (FROM THE MERRITT PARKWAY).
